October Crescent Moonletter
Hi Reader,
Hello autumn, dear... Is that you wrapping your colorful fingers around my suddenly-sweatered arm? It seems to be indeed, as the days shorten and the light sheds its blazing summer brilliance to take on a golden glow. It's almost like nature is letting its breath out in a long "aaaah" that sends the first orange leaves fluttering to the ground.
I talked about the potent and beautiful moment when I noticed my first autumn leaf fluttering to the ground in the latest episode of Magic, Medicine and Mayhem. It's a conscious ritual that I've adopted to help me tune into nature, and which to me signals the real start of autumn! What rituals can you introduce into your life to help you embrace the changing of the seasons?
Here are some ideas you can use this October as inspiration for rituals, spell work, guided journaling or as inspiration to make positive changes. The effects of this work will be strongest three days before, on, or three days after the full Hunter's Moon on October 17th at 7:27 a.m. EDT.
- Slowing down: Autumn is the perfect moment to adopt a more leisurely pace in life and, if possible, work.
- Shedding, releasing, letting go: Follow the example of the trees, and let what isn't serving you flutter away.
- Preparing and reflecting: October's Hunter Moon blazes upon themes of harvesting and prepping for winter, making it ideal for inner work and reflection. To get started, scroll down and download your free fill-in-the-blank moon affirmations below.
- Leaning into natural cycles: We are not machines, as much as our consumeristic, patriarchal society demands that we should be. Given the chance, our bodies, emotions and desires naturally. wax and wane like the moon.
Speaking of working with the moon (or wanting to work with it)... On Friday, October 18th, join me for the Hunter's Moon Circle. The first of many monthly group sessions, it's designed to help you harness the power, healing and inspiration of the new and full moons and build a sense of community. Mark your calendars (and see below for more details)!
Get even more out of this bewitching season (pun intended) by tuning into the podcast throughout the month of October. Also, if this podcast resonates with you, please make sure to share and to rate and review on Apple iTunes. This helps others like you discover this podcast more easily.

Wondering why this is a Crescent Moonletter? I find the naturally cyclical idea of sending out a newsletter with the moon, and particularly the waxing crescent, to be ideal. Why? Aside from the fact that there is a crescent moon in my logo, this phase of the moon stands for creativity, growth, rebirth, new initiatives, intuition and feminine energy (among other things). What juicy elements to build a newsletter, er Moonletter, around!
That's it for now, friends. I hope the first few days of October are treating you well. May blessings fall around you like fall leaves.
Until next time,
